First things first - Can you hear that weird little beeping
sound? Can you feel that noise?? Like something coming in, or something will
happen??
Just joking! Of course there’s no such beeping sound but…
There’s the brand new Android O, waiting to be released, just for you! And that’s
what all our attraction is centered to.

The Android Nougat, released in August 2016, has been nearly
1 year old. For an operating system, it is quite a lot of time to be called the
newest one, especially in these days. But the most important thing about Google
that comforts us is that, they never stop working for the user. And the Android
O is their latest gift for their Android fans!
The Android O project started on 21 March, 2017. Since then,
Google has been updating the OS and uploading preview versions for developers
on the Android
Developers website. Four of the Android O developer previews are already
available for testing and reviewing, the fourth one being the last, announced
in this month (JULY, 2017). The public release is planned for Q3 2017.
Ever felt interested about what this ‘O’ in the Android O
really means? Can it be Orange, or Orangina? Or is it Oreo, or Orbit(Gum)?? We
are not sure of this, as this is not final yet. It’s just another surprise to
be disclosed!
But our main concern about Android O is its security
features. And for this version of Android, we have to admit that this is the
most secure Android we have seen so far.
Android O comes with a very high level of encryption
technology, the file-based
encryption. It basically encrypts each file separately. With this
encryption and new APIs, apps are expected to operate within a limited context,
requiring less credentials and thus protecting private user information.

Google is also improving existing security features related
to core Android elements such as verified boot, system alerts, device
permissions etc. Google also brought some changes to its security platform,
which it now calls as Google
Play Protect.
No more worrying about viruses! The ‘Verify Apps’ option in
Android O is enabled by default to keep you safe from perpetrators. At the I/O
developer session on Google’s California campus, which was organized on May
2017, they explained how the new Android O protects it’s users from viruses,
malicious apps, malware and numerous other threats.
The Android O especially works great against ransomware. So,
no need to worry about being locked out of your device and being asked for
ransom.
Google has totally renovated another integreted Android
security feature in this new version of Android, which is ‘Find my device’. It
is an updated and upgraded version of the old Android device manager. It tracks
your tablets, phones and shows their last location. It also shows stats like
remaining battery, WIFI etc.
